RISE

UX/UI: Mental Health Mobile App
An empowering mental health mobile app that breaks the barriers of stigma and challenges self perception.

Around the world, one in four people, are diagnosed with a mental health condition at some point in their lives. Many of these people struggle to separate their identity from their diagnosis because of the stigma, labels, society's idea of "normal" and much more. RISE seeks to empower individuals to not only see but live beyond their diagnosis and rediscover who they are beyond it all.

RISE is not only used in the name of the app as a motivator but also as an acronym, which stands for Redefining Identity and Self Expression.

After extensive research, I started my design process by creating a journey map. This helped layout my vision and ideas into a more concise work flow as I had many ideas and avenues that I wanted to include in the app. The map not only helped me visualize that but also narrow down what was truly necessary and helpful for my target audience.

The RISE app offers an outlet for journaling, reflection, self love/care, confidence builder activities, community discussion boards, and local meetups. The goal is to show the user that they are more than their illness that makes up their identity. With the support of the app features and community, the user learns to build confidence in who they are and what truly makes up their identity.
